ActiveSheets is a component based Excel spreadsheet interface for specifying
computational experiments. It builds on Nimrod, a specialized parametric modeling system, by
adding a component based spreadsheet interface for specifying computational experiments. It
uses Microsoft Excel® as the base spreadsheet application, and has incorporated VBA
(Visual Basic for Applications) and associated component technology to allow ActiveSheets
to interface with Nimrod/G.
Recently NetSolve was selected as a powerful backend to ActiveSheets.
The screenshot below shows that ActiveSheet's Server Connection Manager chooses
NetSolve as its computing backend. Therefore it offers spreadsheets transparent
access to the computational resources that NetSolve system provides.
