Resources

The information in this section relates to the educational resources currently cataloged and available as part of the Active Netlib project, which include articles, software applications, etc.

The online catalog was built using the Repository in a Box (RIB) application developed here at ICL. The purpose of this collection is to provide a rich, high interactive, inquiry-based learning environment to enable students and application scientists to attain the mastery of numerical methods and their implementation in software libraries that their work in this new era requires.

Active Netlib transforms the Netlib mathematical software collection into an active collection by making selected Netlib software available as executable content on a network of NetSolve servers. The matrix shows what Netlib software is installed on NetSolve computational servers. Click on the entry for the intersection of a piece of software and a NetSolve system to find out more.

A visual repository of test data for use in comparative studies of algorithms for numerical linear algebra, featuring nearly 500 sparse matrices from a variety of applications, as well as matrix generation tools and services.

Netlib is a collection of mathematical software, papers, and databases.

NetSolve/GridSolve is a project that aims to bring together disparate computational resources connected by computer networks. It is a RPC based client/agent/server system that allows one to remotely access both hardware and software components.

RIB is a software package for creating Web-accessible metadata repositories.
