The next generation repository toolkit will be written in Java, which will greatly reduce the package size.

Currently, RIB is packaged with Apache, Perl, and mySQL. These applications go out of date quickly and most problems experienced with RIB are due to one of those aforementioned components. The functionality of previous RIB versions will be maintained, but completely rewritten in Java.
