The goal of the Productivity from Open, INtegrated Tools (POINT) project is to integrate, harden, and deploy an open, portable, robust performance tools environment for the NSF-funded high-performance computing centers. Currently, the project is a collaborative effort involving four institutions that are nationally recognized as leaders in high performance computing research: National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), the University of Oregon, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

As part of this NSF-funded effort, the project is leveraging four widely-used performance analysis tools as core components: PAPI, PerfSuite, Scalasca, and TAU.

This website was established to provide information about UT Knoxville's participation in the POINT project. The main website for the project is hosted at the University of Oregon and can be found here -
