The goal of the Productivity from Open, INtegrated Tools (POINT) project is to integrate, harden, and deploy an
open, portable, robust performance tools environment for the NSF-funded
high-performance computing centers. Currently, the project is a collaborative effort involving four institutions that are nationally recognized as leaders in high performance computing research: National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), the University of Oregon, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
As part of this NSF-funded effort, the project is leveraging four widely-used performance analysis tools as core components: PAPI, PerfSuite, Scalasca, and TAU.
