How can I utilize all 4 GPUs of 2x Radeon 6990 ?

How can I utilize 2x Radeon HD 6990 in the best way?
Does it make sense to use CrossFire connector?

CrossFire gives plenty of power four AMD Cayman GPUs, a total of 8 GB of memory, 6144 stream processors this is a lot even now after a few years :)
