How to Copy and edit the file LAPACK/make.inc.example

Respected sir/madam,

I am a new user of lapack.I want to install lapack on fedora 14 x86_64.I have downloaded the respective version of lapack-3.2.2 and as mentioned in the instruction i am trying to Copy and edit the file LAPACK/make.inc.example to LAPACK/make.inc.
I really do not know how to modify the PLAT definition and other related modifications which i supposed to know as an installer.
Please kindly help me to modify this part of an installation.

Best would be to download LAPACK 3.4.0 from http://www.netlib.org/lapack/#_lapack_version_3_4_0
then once inside the LAPACK folder type:
cp make.inc.example make.inc
make blaslib # this is to get the Reference BLAS
make
