Measuring performance counters of an application with time

I am currently working on measuring performance counters of an application with time. In this regard I have installed PAPI and was experimenting with PAPIEX. I guess PAPIEX gives the performance counters for the entire run of the application. What if I want all the performance counter values of a particular application say at every 25 ms? How can I go about this issue? Please let me know.
