I am interested in reading out this particular counter value for an analysis.

Counter Name: UNC_LLC_LINES_IN.M_STATE L3 CACHE lines allocated in M state

Could someone please help me understand how i could read this value ?

Hi -
This looks like a Nehalem counter.
The UNC_ prefix indicates that it's an Uncore counter. Unfortunately, Uncore is presently unsupported in PAPI.

your right. Its an Uncore counter from Nehalem.
Any suggestions what else i could use to get the counter value?
