I noticed in the LAPACK FAQ it indicates that people may freely use LAPACK routines as long as proper credit is given to the authors. Does the same policy apply to all other libraries on the NETLIB site (i.e. - EISPACK, BLAS, SLATEC, TOMS, etc.)?
I have translated several routines from these libraries into C and Javascript and posted them on my website. Now I am trying to earn some money (it is just a hobby, which I have been paying for myself), and make the website pay for itself, so I would like to put AdSense ads on the pages. Would an AdSense ad on a page whose underlying algorithm is based on, say, a TOMS routine, be a violation of the library's use?
Sincerely,
David
