process grids with blacs descinit_

Hi,
I'm wondering whether there are some information telling me if there are performance issues when I'm using only 1-2 rows in the but _many_ rows in the process grid. I'm not sure whether it's really usefull if i've nearly as much lines as rows. The ScaLAPACK user guide doesn't say a word about performance things when using descinit's row and col parameter.
