To run BLAS tests on Windows

Hi,

I'm wanting to build and run the BLAS tests under windowsXP. I have looked at this intall guide page, but remain confused: http://www.netlib.org/lapack/lawn41/node127.html

Sorry I know virtually nothing of cygwin, and not much more about fortran: If I install cygwin and use it to build the BLAS tests, can I then use the resulting binaries from windows? or only from inside cygwin? :shock:

Is there perhaps an easier way to build and run the BLAS tests under windowsXP? I am using Intel Visual Fortran as my compiler.

May I ask you why you need to run the BLAS tests on windows?
Many vendors BLAS are available under Windows (Intel MKL, AMD ACML ,..) [100% Windows native]

We advice users to always use Vendors or optimized BLAS libraries (like GOTO BLAS, ATLAS ,etc..). The NETLIB reference BLAS is not optimized and will give you very very poor performance.

Hi Julie,

I am working from this documentation:

First it tells me to go find a vendor BLAS (which is MKL for me). Then it goes on to say "No matter which BLAS library is used, the BLAS test programs should always be run."

So that's what I'm aiming for.

The original sources plus the makefiles I posted also generate BLAST reference library as a part of LAPACK build. You will only need Intel Fortran for Windows.
