Problems installing LAPACK in ALPHA-DEC

Postby wd20lp » Thu Mar 16, 2006 2:35 pm

Dear All,

We are trying to compile LAPACK in a DEC ALPHA machine and
we are getting some errors messages (please, see below). Does
anybody have suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Cheers,

Luciano

Error in TESTING/schkee.f

Postby dmday » Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:30 pm

I observed similar problems using a two x86 four-core processors, Goto's threaded BLAS library (1.19) with lapack3.1.1. At first I used gfortran version 4.1.1, and I worked really hard to get just stest to pass. Then I upgraded gfortran to version 4.2.2., and the tests ran.

I digress to mention the steps needed for stest to pass with gfortran 4.1.1. I hacked LAPACK in several ways. In schkee.f I to avoid a segmentation fault I changed
$ RESULT( 500 ), TAUA( NMAX ), TAUB( NMAX ),
to
$ RESULT( 5000 ), TAUA( NMAX ), TAUB( NMAX ),
There were several problems with Infinity and NaN's. I added a redundant test for NaNs to slange.f. slascl.f and slartg.f were being called with infinite arguments, and were stuck in infinite loops. So again I added code to detect such (illegal) input and handle it accordingly.
And here is the make.inc (minus comments).
Code: Select all
SHELL = /bin/sh
PLAT = _LINUX
FORTRAN  = gfortran
OPTS     = -funroll-all-loops -frounding-math -fsignaling-nans -fno-range-check -O3
DRVOPTS  = $(OPTS)
